Major Events and Arts Coordinator @ From October 2014 to Present (1 year 3 months) Marketing and Public Relations Manager @ Responsibilities:
•Evaluate marketing, publicity and promotions; devise strategies to raise the profile of Country Arts WA, promote activities and improve online presence.
•Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including local, State and Federal Government, community and industry reference groups, members, State wide and national networks, the Board of Directors, management and staff.
•Manage Marketing Department projects such as membership, advocacy, State and National conferences, meeting all key performance indicators (KPI) relating to budgets, staffing, project delivery and reporting.
•Travel to regional centres and represent Country Arts WA on committees and at community arts events.
•Approve copy for all marketing collateral including media releases, newsletters, programs, press kits, posters, flyers and DVDs.
•Monitor the consistency of branding and corporate style in all organisational templates, publications and public documents.
•Develop and maintain good relationships with media representatives and liaise with them on issues of public interest resulting from Country Arts WA activities.
•Seek opportunities for partnerships and/or in-kind sponsorship and liaise with partners to ensure adequate delivery of benefits and meet partners’ expectations.
•Manage staff including recruitment, delegation of tasks, training and mentoring, performance appraisals/management.
•Coordinate and assign contractors working on promotional activities.
•Provide bi-monthly written reports to the Chief Executive Officer, General Manager and the Board.
•Manage the marketing team budget and oversee budgets for each project. From September 2011 to September 2014 (3 years 1 month) Audience Development Officer @ Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain a diverse range of stakeholder relationships including local and guest artists, workshop participants, Indigenous community members, educational institutions, community organisations and groups.
• Coordinate communications e.g. media, collateral, website, newsletters, mail-outs and registration forms, ensuring consistency of branding and style.
• Develop efficient administrative processes for the public program.
• Coordinate arts tutors and the public program stream (including school group tours, seniors program and programs surrounding exhibitions).
• Supported the Indigenous Arts Development Officer in his role.
• Work within and maximise program budgets.
• Report to Board of Directors on public programs (participation and profitability).
Achievements:
• Substantially increased participation in the workshop program. Revenue provided a new independent income stream the Galleries and funded additional programs.
• Established effective relationships with print, radio and television media ensuring regular media coverage. This increased opportunities for media comment and raised the public profile of Bunbury Regional Art Galleries. From February 2009 to February 2011 (2 years 1 month) Community Relations Officer @ Part-time project based position for Tutunup South Mine.
Responsibilities:
• Employed on short-term contract for the establishment of the new Tutunup South mineral sands mining project near Busselton in the south-west of WA.
• As part of the project management team evaluated and reported on community concerns regarding the new mine and advised on potential strategies to address these. Issues raised included noise and air pollution, radiation risk, underground water supply (quality and level) in farming area, increased traffic, adverse effects on flora and fauna.
• Recommended to Human Resources that regular internal communications be sent out and social functions organised to keep staff informed and engaged during times of job uncertainty, restructure and retrenchments.
• Developed and implemented community and stakeholder communication processes (direct visits, telephone calls, establishing telephone feedback line and following up with individuals any issues raised).
• Attended meetings and reported to project management team and site senior management team on results of community engagement. From August 2009 to November 2009 (4 months) Administration and Projects Coordinator @ Responsibilities:
• Developed, coordinated, analysed and reported on fundraising/awareness events.
• Coordinated communications e.g. website, mail-outs, collateral, merchandise and newsletters, ensuring consistency of branding and style.
• Project management on fundraising initiatives including membership and donation programs and sale of merchandise.
• Managed staff and volunteers during fundraising and awareness events.
• Liaised with volunteers, management, Board of Directors, Founder and Patron.
Achievements:
• Accomplished record profits and increased participation in each of the annual fundraising and awareness events.
• Managed and strengthened the State-wide external fundraising program. Assisted and advised external fundraisers in their initiatives. This resulted in substantial income growth, goodwill and repeat events across the program.
• Developed a structured volunteer program and mentored the volunteer coordinator. From July 2007 to February 2009 (1 year 8 months)
