Since co-founding the company with my brother Jamie, we have secured a number of investment rounds and built a great team, with a strong technical focus and a reputation for exceptional user experience and outstanding customer service. Loco2 is unrivalled for online booking of train tickets throughout Europe. By virtue of being the founder of a small business, I'm a generalist with a broad range of skills and expertise. Primarily, I oversee Loco2's operations and customer service, managing our expanding customer service team and operational processes. Increasingly, I am involved in marketing, PR and copy editing. I am passionate about European rail travel and am proud to have more than a few rail miles under my belt. I have appeared in various publications including Business Traveller, The Independent on Sunday and National Geographic Traveller, among others, as a European rail expert. This is a role which demands organisational skill, and capacity to multi task in a busy workspace. This role encompasses general management, human resources, and customer services, with a specific focus on managing operations and financial systems. From October 2010 to November 2011 (1 year 2 months) LondonSabbatical @ During a 2-year sabbatical, I circumnavigated the world with the lowest carbon footprint I could manage. Starting out in 2007 on a cargo ship across the Atlantic from Dover to Costa Rica. 23 days, 40 Russian sailors and 6000 tonnes of fruit. 8 months travelling in Central America - including 4-months volunteering in Nicaragua. I was later employed as a cook and deck hand on a 47-foot yacht that sailed across the Pacific Ocean over 5 months, from Mexico to Polynesia, living briefly in Vava'u, Tonga. I arrived in Australia in August 2008. In Australia I was employed as a restaurant maitre de & bar manager, earning funds to travel overland across Asia homeward, stopping to volunteer at a Cambodia orphanage, camp with nomads in the Gobi desert and catch the Trans-Mongolian across Russia to Europe. I returned by train to the UK in Oct 2009. From August 2007 to October 2009 (2 years 3 months) Office Manager @ Secretarial and office management role held at this charity that specialises in solving the challenges faced by children who struggle to speak. I held responsibility for every day administrative tasks, office management and proof reading. From January 2008 to September 2008 (9 months)
