Director of IT @ Sussex Partnership is an exceptionally forward thinking NHS Foundation Trust who made a conscious decision to focus on the development and delivery of Mental Health, Substance Misuse, and Learning Disabilities services. We are 'specialists' in these healthcare disciplines and provide across a wide geographical spread incorporating Kent, East and West Sussex, South London, and Hampshire. My role, along with my team of ingeniously talented and hard working people, is to quickly move the Trust from its current transitional state to an exemplar model of ICT service delivery; one which will underpin the successful delivery of our strategic objectives and ensure we innovate through clever IT. We have big ambitions and ideas to match. From September 2012 to Present (3 years 4 months) Director @ The Hampshire Health Informatics Service (HIS) became 'Hampshire IT Solutions' during 2011 in recognition of the changing face of the NHS. Given the growing competitive state amongst NHS provider organisations most trusts started to take their business intelligence functions in-house and therefore, our underpinning strategy was to focus on core IT solutions whilst striving to align this shared service with current and future NHS needs. Our vision was to be the first choice provider of core IT services across Hampshire. From April 2011 to September 2012 (1 year 6 months) IT Programme Director @ Leading on key elements of informatics local health community planning and supporting major IM&T programmes and related change programmes. Leading the IM&T group associated with Transforming Community Services and assisting the exec team in drawing up the Business Transfer Arrangement as the PCT divested itself of its provider arm (Hampshire Community Healthcare). From October 2009 to April 2011 (1 year 7 months) Head of IT @ Provision of IT Services for both commissioner and provider arms of the PCT and with service/budgetary responsibility for Health Informatics Services. Key successes include the delivery of ICT solution for UK’s largest primary care health centre (Aldershot – multi-occupancy, including MoD Army), establishment of award winning web development team, and key role in collaborative community IM&T solutions (networks consolidation, email upgrades, rolling out of pan-Hampshire single sign-on and OCS, telecoms solutions, video conferencing etc). From October 2006 to October 2009 (3 years 1 month) Head of Informatics @ Strategic direction, planning and development for all IM&T and Information Governance functions for the South East region, and lead for Hampshire wide IT issues. Contracts/SLA management and local integration of the IT agenda to support an area which serves 380,000 patients; 5 community hospitals, 49 GP practices, 43 pharmacists, 45 opticians, 62 dental practices and multiple other local health services. The PCT 'clustered' with East Hampshire PCT during 2005 so my role and responsibility then extended across both. From August 2004 to June 2006 (1 year 11 months) Computer Services Manager @ Strategic planning, development and support for all IS, IT & ICT functions, including large computer network (in excess of 700 PCs) utilising the most diverse range of software applications in a demanding and challenging environment. A prominent member of the College’s Management Team, a key player in the IT Strategy Group and Risk Management Group. Design of organisation’s risk management process and completion of associated training needs analysis (from Board to middle management). From August 1998 to July 2004 (6 years) JRO(G) through WORS(SM) @ The latter and more pertinent roles, from 1991-1998, included: 1. Operations Manager - training, planning, computer security, health & safety, budgetary control and operations planning. 2. Communications Centre Manager - high volume, secure and reliable computerised communications on a national and international level. 3. Head of Communications Training Design - Communications Training Section at HMS Dolphin Submarine Training School. 4. Chief Radio Supervisor to NATO Submarine Command - key player of project team procuring and setting to work a high profile £12 million submarine communication system.
