💼 Past Experience

My work experience at Samsung Electronics:From January 2002 to April 2007, I was a Corporate Recruiter at Trinity Consultants. This was a ten-year career at Trinity Consulting, where I oversaw the recruitment of new employees at all levels of experience. I was responsible for their orientation and onboarding, as well as their maintenance of employee files and information in HRIS. I also managed sourcing of new candidates through social networking, internet research, and referrals. I created and updated job descriptions, managed interviews, and completed employment verifications.Since February 2008, I have been a Talent Acquisition Manager at Samsung Electronics America in Dallas/Fort Worth Area. My role at Samsung Electronics America was to develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Talent Acquisition team, internal and external clients, candidates, vendors, community organizations and other stakeholders in order to create collaborative partnerships that produce predictable and successful results. I exhibited competency in the recruitment of candidates of various categories across multiple disciplines (e.g., program management, sales, technology, finance and operations). I also worked collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and maintain job descriptions that attracted top talent. I creatively sourced candidates through a variety of methods, including writing and placement of attractive job postings, active use of social media, mining niche industry websites, college recruiting and general and targeted networking. Ipresented and negotiated employment offers, giving attention to critical detail.In my previous job at Trinity Consultants, I had a great opportunity to work with several different management teams. I was able to learn how to work with different types of managers and how to build successful Teams. Working with a company such as Samsung Electronics, I was able to learn how to lead and manage teams. I was able to improve my skills in both sales and technology. Karen Rocha holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Centenary College of Louisiana, in 1994. Rocha then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Education from California State University, Northridge in 1998. Rocha's educational background is reflective of herpiring chaos theorists who thrive in change, interchangeable future explorers, and problem-solving moderates with a focus on yin and yang. In Rocha's case, her background reflects her focus on irregular and unpredictabilities in educational settings, which isshed in her previous experience as an English teacher and later as a charter school teacher.Rocha began her academic career as an English teacher in 1998 in a charter school in the city of Oakland, California. From 1998 to 2003, Rocha taught fifth- to eighth-grade education in the city of Hayward, California. From 2003 to 2006, Rocha taught in a charter school in Belgrade, Serbia. From 2006 to 2007, Rocha taught in a charter school in Istanbul, Turkey. Rocha then began her current position as a charter school teacher in Standish, Massachusetts.Rocha's instructional methods feature a blending of drills and real-world applications, which engages her students in hands-on learning. Her goal is for her students to become problem-solvers and to understand the connections between knowledge and reality. In her previous positions, Karen Rocha has utilized a method known as student-directed learning, in which her students design their own learning methods.Rocha believes that her teaching methods are essential in molding her students into successful professionals. To that end, she has developed a program known as the torpedo course, which breaks down vocational skills into essential steps.
