This role requires the leading of a team of Drilling and Completions professionals that plans, designs and constructs the wellbores required to satisfy the objectives of the company. This is all performed by following the Well Delivery Process and Process Safety Management Elements to ensure a safe and reliable operation with the target of best in class performance across the well life cycle.
A secondary purpose is to lead and mentor a group of engineers and operations personnel with diverse backgrounds and experience to provide well construction excellence within the organization while working with consistent standards and developing capacity for future projects. I took a lead role where I am strongly involved with putting together a field development plan for one of the major coal seam gas to liquefied natural gas project in Queensland Australia. My added value to the project came through the identification of well concept improvement opportunities and delivering clear directions to the field’s development strategy. Other tasks involved:
•Introduced the PAD drilling concept to reduce foot print and save over $1.4 Billion Capex
•Submitted a full well technology Concepts for Field Development Plan (drilling. completion, stimulation, artificial lift)
•Developed a Fit for purpose well servicing strategy for Coal Seam Gas to LNG wells
•New well technology development and benchmarking reports of similar size projects.
•Reviewed Basis of deign (BOD) with two major EPC Contractors (Foster wheeler and Fluor) to make sure all FEED is done to Filed Development Plan requirements From January 2009 to April 2010 (1 year 4 months) Brisbane Area, AustraliaEngineering team lead @ My job is, and has always been, project-oriented with overall responsibility for identifying, evaluating, deploying and performance review of cost effective technology throughout the exploration, appraisal / pilot, development and production chain.
•First to successfuly drill Cardium Horizontal wells in Garrington area in 2008. A new Technology ground breaking by being first to apply selective multi-stage fracturing in deep Cardium tight sandstone reservoirs and coals improving productivity by up to 1000%
•Development and promotion of novel solutions in the drilling and completion of oil and gas wells and elaboration a yearly activity budget (50 to 60 MM$) to compensate production decline. Alberta business unit grew from 4000 BOED in 2005 to over 10,000 BOED in 2008.
•First to develop CBM play for NAL in central Alberta by providing all the engineering from drilling to commissioning of about 200 CBM wells, low pressure gathering network and two full compression stations including separation and gas dehydration.
•Design of fluid and placement techniques for matrix treatments based on damaging mechanism and reservoir characteristics.
•Design of fit for purpose completion solutions and brought production to wells where it had previously no presence
•Front End Design for hydrocarbon, water, N2 and Poly CO2 based fracturing stimulation techniques for conventional, un-conventional oil and gas wells.
•Feasibility studies in stimulation, sand control, coiled tubing, cementing, water and scale control for different fields in Alberta.
