India-born son of an expat Iranian father and an Indian mother, Sihota left his homeland at the age of 15 to pursue a career in globalization. In 1993, at the age of 19, he graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Stanford University, having already worked as a risk analyst and back-end development manager at a venture-capital firm. Sihota came to the US in 1995 and worked as an analyst at the Dana Associates Inc. think tank in Washington, D.C.
