💼 Past Experience

Kaan Gunay's Work experience focussed primarily on the taxi industry, and especially the development of online booking platforms for taxi drivers to use. Kenny and co-founder Atif founded Firefly in 2013, after exiting their previous company, Reload (later acquired by Uber). at the time, they were the only startup in their category and the only Haitian-owned startup.After starting work on their first project – a a mobile app to book taxi rides in Haitian Creole – they spent most of their time focusing on this project, but also became involved in various other projects within the company. For example, during their time at Reload, they developed a platform for forecasting traffic congestion in Haitian Creoles, and also co-founded a drinks company, Hai Collez Vieux. burned out on the development cycle of their taxi app in early 2016, and decided to migrate to Palestine to work on a different project. There they developed a platform to connect different transportation providers in the Palestinian diaspora.Kaan Gunay's current project is a new online booking platform for taxi drivers in Haitian Creole.
