From June 2014 to September 2014 (4 months) Senior Project Manager, Local & European Elections @ • Took over a workstream for delivery of virtual reality, full forms and lower third graphics for national programme. • Swiftly recovered workstream refocusing a multidisciplinary team of 30 people through expert delivery management – assessed requirements/scope and managed planning, change control, resources, suppliers, risk management (particularly related to new technologies) and issue resolution, including the challenge of broadcasting from outside central London for the first time. • Streamlined departmental (visual journalism) business as usual (BAU) workflows, successfully utilising the in-house graphics design team rather than an external supplier to provide project graphics for the first time. From January 2014 to May 2014 (5 months) Business Analyst, Wales WBH Programme @ • Conducted in-depth strategic analysis of all production and professional services departments consisting of 1,200 personnel across 10 sites, as part of the feasibility and planning stages of a comprehensive change programme. • Completed strategic planning for the high-level design and solution of end user technology that would realise the benefits of collaboration and flexible working. Developed the roadmap from As-Is to Future State. Formulated comprehensive 5-year strategic alignment plan and technology overview. • Wrote Terms of Reference for two workstreams and identified deliverables for the planning phase of the programme (13 defined projects and 260 deliverables). • Resource management and planning through PPG project prioritisation. Aligned the BAU technology delivery portfolio with the change programme (~200 projects), prioritising deliverables and resources. • Completed scoping for the decommissioning of two of the old buildings - identified the cost, benefits, key deliverables and scope of works. • Completed scoping for main TV studio graphics technical infrastructure implementation and systems upgrade – identified current workflows, appropriate new solution and mapped new workflows, resulting in significant financial benefits through improved efficiency. The £1 billion W1 Change Programme completed successfully and won the prestigious APM Programme of the Year 2013 award. • Migrated services with a weekly global audience of 225 million to a new flagship production facility in central London. Managed dual running throughout the site migration. Successful management of risk to critical 24/7 systems, facilities and connectivity, completing migration without a single service outage. • Developed the business continuity solution for relocation of TV production and broadcast services of two international television channels during Integrated Systems Testing of the new property, successfully maintaining uninterrupted services from remote locations for three weeks. • Delivered multiple technology, infrastructure and connectivity projects that enabled system migration or replacement – including software development, international resource scheduling system upgrade and migration, and end user compute operating system and hardware refresh. • Decommissioned accommodation comprising 23,374 square metres of office space and 930 individual rooms, including 148 studios. Completed to scope, within budget and on time. • Facilitated negotiations with technology partner, achieved significant discount savings of 85%. Planned and monitored financial spend to ensure alignment with change programme finance strategy. • Defined and implemented complete new set of site decommissioning processes, aligned to the environmental pledges of the corporation. The new processes were adopted by the BBC and subsequently applied across future site decommissions, notably TV Centre in W12. • Managed data cleansing of all decommissioned technology assets in strict accordance with Data Protection Act and national security standards.
