About Juan Suero

📖 Summary

Cloud computing represents a relatively new paradigm shift in how runtimes for applications and their supporting infrastructures are delivered. The business, organizational and technical strategies this new model enables are driven by shifts from capital expenditure to operational expenditure, metered usage, automated accessibility and provisioning of application building blocks, automated abilities to scale applications up or out, automated ability to respond to changes in demand, and REST APIs to control it all. These features combine to enable Service Oriented Architecture, seamless application lifecycle management, and removes costs, technical and political blocks from innovation. For the last two years I have been focused on delivering solutions with Microsoft Azure, Amazon EC2, and VMWare vCloud Director. ( also studied Openstack ). These multi-platform experiences have provided me a great foundation to help enterprises un-biasedly discover what the best cloud strategy and architecture is for them today, and how they can effectively leverage cloud computing tomorrow. In addition my work with the governance and finances of production cloud deployments has helped me understand the operational and economic benefits as well as the pitfalls to watch out for. Prior to that, I spent five years building Service Oriented architectures and connected systems for many large clients on the Microsoft .NET platform with Windows Communication Foundation, Biztalk Server, and C#/ASP.NET. These experiences have helped me understand cloud computing part of what it really is: Service Oriented Infrastructure. The first Cloud Computing platform was actually Biztalk Server. Biztalk Server allowed us to logically separate compute infrastructure from application definition, automatically provision both, and meter data flowing through the applications.
