From 2006 to 2007 (1 year) Senior UNIX Administrator / SAN admin @ Responsible for second and third level support of all production, development, and test UNIX systems. Main responsibilities include the support and architecture of e-commerce systems, HP storage area network devices (XP256, XP1024, Brocade switches), web application servers (webMethods, Weblogic server 7.0 and 8.1, Coldfusion Server 5.0), performance tuning and capacity planning. Daily responsibilities include working closely with Oracle and Informix DBAs on support issues and projects, writing scripts to automate daily tasks, analyzing data collected by PerfView for tuning, and working with developers in design and implementation issues. From March 2001 to May 2006 (5 years 3 months) Senior UNIX Administrator / Network Manager @ Responsible for Fresher's production environment, including UNIX hardware and software, storage arrays, backup schemas, redundancy solutions, and network solutions. Responsible for all in-house UNIX services, including but not limited to: backup architecture, networking configurations with Cisco routers and switches, firewall security with Cisco PIX, and everyday Sys Admin tasks. Responsibilities included maintenance, design, and implementation of system strategies for all servers hosting our software. Tasks included upgrades to HP-UX servers, patch installations, networking, NIS configuration, sendmail configuration, NFS server/client maintenance and, developing tools for use with our products. Other duties included onsite system and application support for CAD/CAM and workflow packages, script writing and debugging, software training and presentation.
