Josh Odom's education background is that of an information systems administrator. Odom minors in Business Administration (B.B.A.) at The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2005 and 2007. Additionally, Odom holds a General Management Certificate from The University of Texas at Austin in 2009.Josh Odom has spent the majority of his professional career working in the IT field. Beginning his career as a Business Administration Specialist at The University of Texas at Austin from 2005 to2007, he soon rose toTodd Harrison’s position of Manager of the Regional Computing Center (“RCC”) in the UTSA administration building.In his first year of management, Odom spearheaded the Installation, Configuration, and Administration (ICCA) of the UTSA’s then-newprise Network Operating System, UnixIX. This innovative remote access solution, based on the UNIX free software distribution, helped to revolutionaryize university computing and doubled the number of faculty and staff working with UNIX.In his second year of management, Odom also led enhancements to the ICA platform, codenamed STREAMLINE, and oversaw the installation of the UTSA’s award-winning flagship cable network, the Austin Television Network. This multimedia network produced the first live, non-commercial television programming in Texas and the third in the United States.In his third year of management, Odom assumed the position of Manager of the Computer Services Center. Josh was born in 1985 in San Antonio, TX anduchsied at the University of Houston where he obtained a B.S. in Computer Science in 2000. He then worked in the software industry for 11 years before moving to Rackspace in August 2011 to take the position of CTO. In that role, he oversees the product development for the Rackspace Cloud Platform, as well as a variety of other Rackspace offerings.
