💼 Past Experience
I started my career as a Chef de Partie at Le Lan in May 2006. The fish station was my cooking playground. I enjoyed marveling at the deft touches of Chef de Partie Paulo Soares, who cooked simple,yet boldly flavored fish dishes that provided a great show of accomplishment for the station. I started as a culinary program assistant at Common Threads in August 2008. I was hired to help implement a government program that regulated the use of food in restaurants. I was responsible for giving feedback to chef instructors, helping to organize and participated in annual fundraising events, and helping to establish common protocol for the kitchen staff. I was lead party chef at Food for Thought in August 2006. I worked a staff of up to 7 for parties up to 200. I loved working here and always had a blast. I interned at The Stewards Market in May 2011 and spent a lot of time learning about and gaining understanding the concept of social enterprise. I worked with social media on the business side, and taught classes on the social impact side. I saw how a budding social enterprise and its umbrella organization work was crucial in determining my next steps. After being hired as a part of the team at Bistro Bella Vita at Neiman Marcus from January 2007 to December 2007, I started as a line cook and eventually became the Sous Chef. I worked under two great chefs that were very inspiring here. I started Kitchfix out of my personal chef business, catering for people who needed healthy meals for themselves and their families. It's been my great honor to work at Kitchfix for the past 8 years. I'm incredibly passionate about the work we do and I’m grateful for every moment that I’ve been able to be a part of it. I’ve never worked so lovingly and passionately at anything as I do with food.
