After establishing the company's first software product management group and software roadmap, the company asked me to found the next needed function: Strategic Alliances.Founded the group, developed a team development hiring plan, and built the Cray-Microsoft Azure "Supercomputing in the cloud' alliance, with a focus on driving incremental new business and customers. The Cray - Microsoft Azure Alliance effort included the launch of three new joint offers, sales enablement of sellers within both companies, creation of strategy documentation / training material / etc, partnership with internal and external teams in marketing, product management, CTO, channel, and sales, and ownership of a significant pipeline number and revenue target. Founded software product management organization at Cray, including hiring senior-level product managers, developing formalized requirements and use cases, incorporating customer input into agile engineering process, and establishing long term strategy, vision, and strategic roadmap. My team and I were responsible for defining Cray software and AI strategy, leading the Cray Software Product Management team, including developing product roadmaps, managing key ecosystem partnerships, and engaging customers and stakeholders at varying levels of technical breadth and business interest. We were specifically responsible for the Cray software portfolio, covering cloud, artificial intelligence, analytics, systems management, open source engagement, systems and network management, operating environments (including Linux), and HPC developer tools such as compilers, HPC libraries, performance tools and more.
