Joseph DeSimone has a career in industry that started in 1989 when he was appointed as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at North Carolina State University. From there, he went on to be Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Carbon and Chancellor’s Eminent Professor of Chemistry at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has also spent many years working with the National Academy of Sciences and the U.S. National Academies.
