📖 Summary
Hello! My name is Jordan Saints, and I am a passionate full-stack developer with experience in: - developing websites and web applications (front-end development) - user interaction and user experience design - software engineering (back end development) - database systems - server administration: configuration, deployment, security - information architecture - computer game design - systems and application security Nothing gets me quite as excited as learning new things, especially when it comes to computers, technology, and the web (I prefer the term "passionate geek"). I created my first website at the age of 14, and have been developing for the web ever since, increasing my skills through freelance work and school projects. On top of that, I have gained real-world, enterprise-level experience through my internships at W.L. Gore & Associates and LinkedIn. Following graduation I joined LinkedIn as a Web Developer. I'm always working on a handful of various side projects, but if you believe you have a project that I would be a good fit for, feel free to shoot me an email! I'm always looking for new challenges. Thanks for reading and have a great day!Web Developer @ I will be bringing even grander visual dreams to life on the web in my new role as a Web Developer at LinkedIn! From March 2015 to Present (8 months) Mountain View, CAAssociate Web Developer @ I made visual dreams come to life on the web in my role as an Associate Web Developer at LinkedIn. From February 2014 to March 2015 (1 year 2 months) Mountain View, CAWeb Developer @ I have been designing, building, and maintaining websites for various personal and professional projects for multiple years. Some of these websites can be seen below and in my "Projects" section. As a self-taught web dev, the experience I gained through my freelance projects has proven invaluable in my now full-time web dev work. From 2007 to February 2014 (7 years) Newark, DEExecutive Board Member: Webmaster @ I am one of the founding members of the Computer Animation & Game Design (CAGD) student club at the University of Delaware. I sat on the executive board, having been elected "Webmaster" of CAGD for all 3 years of CAGD's existence. As the webmaster, I oversaw our group website (www.cagdudel.com) as well as monitored and maintained the CAGD group's custom-built web server. From January 2011 to December 2013 (3 years) University of DelawareWeb Developer Intern @ This past summer I had the privilege to travel out to California to work as a Web Developer Intern doing front-end development for LinkedIn. Specifically, I worked as part the Groups team, developing a brand new look-and-feel for LinkedIn's Groups product (see final image below). While I had, literally, the greatest summer of my life working at LinkedIn and living in California, by far THE most rewarding part of my entire summer occurred during my final weeks at LinkedIn, when I got to witness the fresh Groups redesign, which we'd been working hard for months on, launch to the public, complete with press coverage from sites like Mashable, The Next Web, and more. Needless to say, it was extremely exciting :D. (Fun fact: the Groups redesign was, rather aptly, referred to as "Katy-ified Groups" after, yes, Katy Perry.) More specifically still, I wrote the new "hero image" uploading and cropping tools, pictured in the first and second image slots below, where the first image shows the cropping tool in action, and the second image shows the result of a hero image crop: the beautiful, group-defining banner image at the top. Besides all of that, myself and four other LinkedIn interns also took home 1st prize (and $10,000!) at this summer's LinkedIn Open Intern Hackday for our project DareDvl. Read more in my Projects section below! From June 2013 to August 2013 (3 months) Mountain View, CAWeb Developer @ Following my summer internship with the same division of Gore, I came on as a web developer where I worked with another part-time student in Germany to plan and develop a systems outage notification tool to track system outages and allow for easy user notification for both planned and unplanned outages for various systems (via a subscription service). From September 2012 to May 2013 (9 months) Elkton, MDWeb Team Summer Intern @ I was hired by W.L. Gore & Associates for a summer internship with the Gore.com web team. During the internship I worked on multiple applications and web pages, as well as some internal issues. Working at Gore was a unique and highly rewarding experience that taught me not only new coding skills and gave me an eye-opening glimpse at an Enterprise-level company's operations. Teamwork, communication, and networking were a primary focus. From June 2012 to August 2012 (3 months) Elkton, MDServer @ I worked as a server at the Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant on Main Street in Newark, Delaware. From March 2012 to May 2012 (3 months) Newark, DECISC108 Lab Assistant @ I worked as a lab assistant for the CISC108: Intro to Computer Science weekly labs.
