Jonathan has had a varied career to date, and his motivation is to constantly learn, adapt and be part of the process in communicating the right messages across all mediums. His experience in communications and public relations spans both private and Government sectors and includes media management,corporate communications and digital media. Through such varied experiences, Jonathan recognizes the importance of well rounded and creative communication strategies and the impact they have through traditional print and online platforms as channels of communications.
My experience stretches beyond the corporate world, having been actively involved as a volunteer for various large scale sporting and lifestyle events since his university days to present. Such an involvement has sharpened my skill for handling different stakeholders, and looking at the wider objectives when incorporating , developing and executing innovating and successful communications and publicity strategies.
Sport and Rugby specifically is my passion, and hence my involvement in the administration of the game while I continue to actively be part of the game as a player. The lessons that I have learnt through the game has made me a team player and also one that is focused on solving problems on the go.

From March 2015 to Present (10 months) SingaporeVice President (Honorary) - High Performance @ Strategic input with regards to the High Performance development and execution of the elite level teams that represent Singapore from the age group to the full Mens and Womens international level. Working directly with the Head of Rugby and the Technical Director of the Singapore Rugby Union to develop sustainable long term plans with regards to all aspects of High Performance.
Currently tasked with developing a high performance plan in relation to Singapore Rugby's goal of podium finish at the 2015 SEA Games working with the Singapore Sport Council, the Singapore National Olympic Council and other stakeholders.
Overseeing a long term development plan to ensure high performance players, coaches and management are developed as part of a long term ecosystem.
Recently co-opted in the Tournaments Committee of the Asia Rugby, the governing body of Rugby in Asia.

The SportCares mission is a unique one that has seen tangible results especially in disadvantaged and at risk segments of the community. Using sport to teach the values of life is something close to my heart and has been my passion to see how SportCares can extend its reach to impact the community.
Overseeing the day to day media relations for a variety of stakeholders has helped me sharpen my specific stakeholder management skills as well as establishing a good relationship with the local and regional sports and news media.

From May 2014 to August 2015 (1 year 4 months) Voluntary Committee Member @ Part of the highly dynamic and full voluntary organizing committee that is responsible for the annual International Singapore 7s, Asia's oldest 7 a side Rugby Tournament targeted at elite development teams and semi professional clubs.This tournament is recognised by World Rugby and the Asian Rugby Union as one of the premier tournaments in the world and is sanctioned by the Singapore Rugby Union.
Portfolios currently held within the committee are : Schools and Colleges Tournament Director, Media,Publicity and Broadcast head, Sponsorship management and Vice Chairman in 2014.
Was responsible for the planning and execution of the event's broadcasting strategy from 2010, and included working with production houses, media houses and distributors to bring the 7s highlights package to Australia, New Zealand and the wider Asia market. 2011 - 2012 saw the 7s finals broadcast live locally in Singapore and around the region. Sky TV in New Zealand also carried the live broadcast and this partnership was done with WSG and Sport Singapore.
Assisted in the organization and execution of the tournament's Team Liaison Officer Team made out of volunteers from the wider community. The inaugural batch of TLOs were drawn exclusively from trainee teachers from the National Institute of Education's Physical Education programme in 2010. Since then, the TLO Team has expanded to other volunteers outside the sport of rugby into the wider community. The TLO volunteer programme included training and briefing the TLOs to handle a variety of basic to intermediate issues associated with semi professional and professional sports teams.
Works extensively with local Singaporean schools with the annual schools and colleges tournament, which is the national championship for age groups under 14 to under 19. Secured and planned other fringe activities around the tournament which included the annual Schools Clinic. From January 2006 to February 2015 (9 years 2 months) Manager, Strategic Communications @ Reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Communications and Media Relations, am part of a emerging team that is shaping the focus and messaging of the organisation in line with its 20 year strategic plan, Vision 2030.
Helped develop the overarching messaging and key strategic messaging for all external communications for the 28th SEA Games that will be held in Singapore in 2015. Jonathan was part of the team that developed key messaging tools that will be used throughout the campaign which will see Singapore hosting the region's premier multi- sport event after an absence of 22 years.

From April 2013 to May 2014 (1 year 2 months) Assistant Honorary Secretary @ Assistant Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Rugby Union, the National Sports Association and the Governing Body of Rugby in Singapore. Charged with the responsibility of overseeing the Union's strategic policy with regards to youth development. This is a non paid voluntary role which I'm glad to undertake.
Leading the strategic committee within the Organization spearheading partnerships and sponsorship relations, dealing with notable sponsors such as Guinness, Fitness First, Maxinutrition Singapore and Standard Chartered Bank
Working with the Business Development Manager, helped in the overall presentation and negotiations with Standard Chartered Bank specific to their sponosrship of the Union's youth development programme. This included developing speicifc branding and initiatives for the Bank in its partnership.
Working with the Technical Director and the Director of Rugby, was part of the planning and execution process of developing the selection criteria for key coaching appointments at the youth representative level that led to further implementation to all national teams.
