Jon Cohen is a philosopher and political scientist who has a degree in philosophy and politics from Middlesex University. Jon has worked in a number of different fields, including marketing and advertising, before getting his PhD in political science from the University of Sussex in 2013.Jon has worked on a range of research projects, most notably "Political machines, electoral competition and the South London neighbourhood", which was published in the journal Political Science Quarterly. This project focused on the idea that electoral competition affects how different neighbourhoods in London vote, and found that the Conservative party has performed better in neighbourhoods with a strong political history.Jon's current work is focused on the question of how ready young people are to entry into the workforce. His paper "The Labour market, Youth unemployment and employability" is a comprehensive analysis of the effects of youth unemployment on employability and career prospects. This project is part of a larger project thatJon is working on with the University of Warwick, which is looking at the relationships between employment, education and health. Jon has also produced a number of short films, most notably "The solution to teenage pregnancy" which was shot in London and has recently been released as a DVD.
