From August 2015 to Present (5 months) Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder (successful exit/ sale) @ Charted a successful marketing and business development strategy to launch World Air Ops in response to an identified need within the aviation market. Initially offered ad-hoc services related to ground handling support and air traffic rights, rapidly expanding the business to additional verticals that capitalise on market opportunities that included an innovative fuel management program, route planning and analysis, and complete outsourced flight operations management- now revered to be the leader of logistical support and operations management for global rotary and fixed wing operators.
♣ Jointly responsible for the P&L, strategic direction, and planning of the company, leveraging strong business acumen to market our services and grow the business through a number of key initiatives focused on defining our target market and competitive differentials.
♣ Adapted an industry proven outsourced maintenance model to conceptualize an outsourced flight operations service, successfully partnering with an Air Canada Tier III carrier, to offer dispatching, crew scheduling, and flight planning to both established and start-up carriers, with an aim at significantly boosting an operators efficiency.
♣ Launched an innovative fuel management program by establishing partnerships with fuel suppliers such as Air BP, Shell, ExxonMobil, Irving Oil and Chevron and re-sellers such as World Fuel Services, thereby diversifying service offerings. Harnessed strong negotiation talents to secure favourable rates that trickle down to clients.
♣ Spearheads the project management of complex flight operations across route planning, aircraft delivery, permit attainment, security provisioning, and ground handling, as well as diffusing any ad hoc issues as they arise. Regularly appointed as a Regulatory Liaison for numerous aircraft operators and organizations.
♣ Responsible for manpower planning based on project requirements and business targets. From January 2010 to July 2015 (5 years 7 months) Manager, Global Sales (Airline Solutions - Enterprise Software) @ Approached to spearhead sales of sophisticated airline operations software to carriers around the world. Later assumed expanded sales leadership for the airport operations product suite.
♣ Reporting directly to the CEO, utilized a consultative, solutions-oriented sales strategy to develop a US$45M sales pipeline.
♣ Pursued and secured contracts with airlines such as British Airways, Virgin, and KLM, with average values of $3M to $15M.
♣ Achieved near 100% closing rates in a market with an extremely long sales cycle, globally dispersed decision-makers, and multi-jurisdictional legal requirements that added a significant layer of complexity to contract wording and negotiations.
♣ Orchestrated and directed the complete account management & support services continuum, from pre-sales RFP responses and solutions engineering, to post-sales professional services and software support.
♣ Identified and capitalized on a lucrative niche opportunity to licence individual modules of the Approach airport operations solutions to secondary airports that cater to smaller, low-cost carriers.
♣ Elevated the company’s profile and product brand through active participation in industry events and conferences, writing and publishing of creative marketing material, establishing credibility as a trusted expert on airline and airport operations. From July 2006 to September 2008 (2 years 3 months) London, United KingdomDirector, Operations Support & Corporate Development @ Brought on board to lead business development, relationship management, and strategic marketing of full service staffing and operations solutions to global airlines. Provided a range of vital consultancy support in product development and launch.
