Running AIX 5.3 with Veritas Foundation Suite, Veritas NetBackup, Veritas Cluster Server and Veritas Volume Replicator. Also responsible for all hardware, SAN, Tape Libraries, NetBackup Backups, NetBackup software, all SAN connectivity, Cisco MDS switches, automating and customizing tasks with shell scripts, Disaster Recovery using Veritas Volume Replicator. Such as p690’s, p680’s, p660’s, and other high-end and legacy AIX machines in a large 1000+ user and 400+ server environment, as well as helping design and implement a state of the art WebSphere environment for the BlueShield/BlueCross customers. Integration of windows servers with UNIX servers to create technical solutions for entire WebSphere environment. Experienced in setting up Regatta hardware configurations and installing AIX on the hardware partitions. Also, created and documented processes and procedures for Sarbanes-Oxley(SOX) compliance, as well as securing the AIX servers internally and externally. This enabled the company to pass several external security/SOX audits of the AIX systems From 2000 to 2003 (3 years) AIX Administrator @ Contract Senior AIX Administrator responsible for designing, recommending AIX solutions and performing administration tasks as part of a team at Kaiser. Was part of various teams of technical staff for recommending and implementing new AIX hardware and software for various departments. Administrated many large SMP environments. SAN connectivity experience with EMC. Performed various upgrades for application groups as well as other administration tasks. Supported Oracle environments on AIX. Also was responsible for backing up of all AIX systems on western part of U.S. using sysback. This was a 6 month contract position. From June 2000 to December 2000 (7 months) AIX Systems Engineer @ Systems Engineer for software value added reseller of CAD software and Enterprise solutions(i.e. databases, web development, server implementation, etc...) Installing, upgrading, configuring, implementing, integrating and troubleshooting for AIX, IRIX(SGI), SOLARIS(SUN), HPUX and Linux operating systems. Integrated solutions for customers with windows PCs using X11 server running on windows 2000 Professional. Also installed and configured hardware upgrades for all listed machines in their respective operating systems. Responsible for southern CA area customer base of 100+ and assisted other offices around the nation. Created, implemented and documented processes for all functions of the position. New process improvements improved customer satisfaction, quality and customer downtime. From September 1999 to June 2000 (10 months) UNIX Systems Administrator @ Optimization and administration on AIX and Windows NT. Automated many functions using scripts from different shells(CSH, KSH, and BSH). Improving on processes that allow for optimizing up-time, man power, and time management. Providing and implementing solutions for information system’s problems. Performing Y2K upgrades, tests, and solutions for AIX. From July 1998 to August 1999 (1 year 2 months) UNIX Systems Administrator @ Contract position. Support AIX, HP-UX, and IRIX user community of approximately 100+ users. Using Korn shell and C-Shell automated tasks such as backups, file security, file space management, user creation, license monitoring, etc. Provided upgrades, new installations, troubleshooting, and help desk to all CAD programs(with emphasis on CATIA) and operating systems in the user community. Also was responsible for all CAD systems problem solving, solutions, integration with operating systems, file transfers, file conversions from many CAD systems and file formats; too and from each other. From August 1997 to July 1998 (1 year) UNIX Systems Administrator / IS Specialist @ Provided support, troubleshooting, and integration for AIX, WIN/NT, and WIN95 workstations. Also administrated all IBM R/S6000 AIX workstations and servers. Responsible for all CAD/CAM/Verification systems such as CATIA, CADKEY, NCL, Solid Works, NCL, CAMAX, and VERICUT. Integrated all CAD/CAM/Verification systems with their respective operating systems, with each other and data between all the systems.
