💼 Past Experience

I am a news editor at Sioux Falls Business Journal. I have been with Gannett since January 2011. prior to that I was employed at Align Content Studio, where I was the Owner and the Editor-in-Chief. There, I was involved in the development of all our content, from written to multimedia content. Additionally, during my time at Align Content Studio, I was also the Chief of Staff. In that role, I wrote the code for all the content creation tools that our journalists use. In addition to that, I also held various other managerial posts at the company, such as the Deputy Editor and the Assistant Editor.When I joined Gannett, I was contacted by the City of Sioux Falls about becoming their Chief of Staff. I accepted the position and worked as a Reporter at KELO-TV. There, I reported on a variety of local/regional news stories. I also took on a number of other managerial duties, including development and artwork for their website and social media accounts. Overall, my time at KELO-TV was very productive and I learned a lot about the news media industry.After leaving KELO-TV, I was once again approached about becoming the Chief of Staff of the City of Sioux Falls. I accepted the position and worked for the City for six months. During that time, I developed all the creative content for the City’s website and social media accounts. Additionally, I helped to connect the city with its informants and with other media outlets. Overall, my experience working for the City was very rewarding, and I learned a lot about city government and about the news media industry.Now that I am aagain a News Editor at Sioux Falls Business Journal, I am once again involved in all the content development for the paper. I also work as an Assistant Editor, as well as a Deputy Editor. Additionally, I am responsible fornitigating and developing news reports. Overall, my experience is really flourishing, and I am very proud of my work at Sioux Falls Business Journal.
