Advanced S/W Engineering @ Car infotainment and vision system R&D.
Developed Apple CarPlay (Digital iPod Out) on Linux embedded system using C/C++ (shown at the Detroit Auto Show 2014, 2015 and CES 2015). Developed CarPlay for Ford Sync Gen3 (on QNX platform) and also wireless CarPlay including iAP2 over BT on Linux embedded system.
Led the design sprint team (innovation process) for autonomous car research.
Currently leading vision system team in advanced engineering group. From June 2013 to Present (2 years 7 months) Greater Atlanta AreaIntern @ From 2013 to May 2013 (less than a year) GRA @ Developed test bed for measuring cooperative diversity gains (virtual MISO) using wireless sensor devices(MICAz) and the channel emulator SR5500. Investigated the energy efficiency of the cooperative transmission considering off-the-shelf radios. Developed protocols that can overcome the energy hole problem in wireless sensor networks using cooperative transmission. Developed and analyzed lifetime maximizing communication protocols in multi-hop wireless sensor networks. From May 2008 to December 2012 (4 years 8 months) United StatesIntern @ Using Xcode, developed a static library and a framework that can measure the power consumption of mass storage devices (HDDs and SSDs). Also, conducted read/write performance (transfer rate and energy consumption) tests on various 2.5’’ HDDs and SSDs, and analyzed the results. From May 2010 to August 2010 (4 months) Engineer @ Developed digital cable set-top boxes for Japan, China, and England using embedded software programming.
Developed boot-loader (including hardware interfaces for the set-top box), flash/EEPROM interfaces, over-the-air download module (which performs platform upgrade through cable network) and self-testing module. Also, was in charge of security integration on set-top box in cooperation with Nagravision. Contributed to earning Japan Cable Labs Certification. From June 2004 to July 2006 (2 years 2 months) Researcher @ Developed a wide range of security software.
Developed update server, update package creator, online updater, reporting tool using Crystal Report and agent modules for vulnerability scanner software (SecuScope). Also, was fully responsible for designing and updating patch database by collecting and recording vulnerabilities listed in various web sites. Devised a new reporting tool for Unix Privilege Manager (UPM), and was in charge of developing logging module using JAVA and creating the reporting tool’s UI (User Interface) using Visual C++. Created a network library that could communicate with servers and process data using C++ for a digital video recorder. Added intrusion detection rules, and verified the effectiveness of the rules through the attack simulation for intrusion detection system software (SecuRadar). From February 2002 to May 2004 (2 years 4 months)
