After completing his BS Computer Science at The University of Alabama inSeptember 1977, Jim Huling transferred to Birmingham-Southern College where he earned his Bachelor of Music in Vocal performance inSeptember 1972. After studying voice with Professor Irwin L. Lustig at Birmingham-Southern College, Jim left to pursue a career in computer science.During his undergraduate years, Jim worked at the local computer service company where he learned the basics of computers. After finishing college, he worked for several years at a local company where he learned how to install and use Windows 95 software. Finally, he was hired as a software engineer at Apple Computers in2000.At Apple, Jim was responsible for developing new software products, developing changes to existing software, and testing the new software. He has also been responsible for developing new ways for Apple to communicate with its customers.Sometime in2002, Jim decided to move back to his native Alabama and take a job at a local company as a engineer. After several years of work there, Jim retired from his job in2009 and moved back to his native Alabama to live with his family.Jim Huling is currently a software engineer for a local company. He was author of the bestseller, "The 4 Disciplines of Execution" and has been teaching the subject since 1994. As a CIO and IT executive at Experian (formerly CCN), he helped shape the company's future by leading its technology strategy and developing its strategy for new markets. He was also responsible for developing and implementing the company's marketing strategy which included marketing to theadded value industry and the high-tech business.
