💼 Past Experience

First and foremost, I’d like to say that I’m tremendously grateful to have been able to work at Google for such a long time. I would also like to express my sadness that I will be leave the company at the end of this year.Google is a great place to work and I have had a great opportunity to interact with many colleagues over the years. I am incredibly sad that my time at the company will come to an end, but I am extremely eager to continue working on products that I believe in and believe in the potential of.I started my career at Google as a software engineer, developing an OpenGL graphics application. After 1 year in this role, I became a product manager for Google Maps, working closely with the engineering teams to design & launch new features. I also helped coordinate efforts between the different teams spread out across 13 different offices. In my time at Google, I did a lot ofUI design and product design. Some of the launches I worked on include My Maps, draggable driving direction, local reviews, user profile pages, embeddable maps, multipoint driving directions, real time traffic, photos of businesses, and geocoding in the Maps API.I co-captain one of our founder initiatives, Female Founder Office Hours (femalefounder.org). In neighbouring San Francisco, I was also a product manager for the new Google Lifestyle product, which wasacquired by Yahoo in 2015. As part of my role at Yahoo, I was also responsible for product strategy, user experience, and managing some secret projects. I’ve also been involved in a lot of innovation work at Yahoo, including the development of Polyvore, Product Ads, Yahoo View, and some cool secret projects.I currently work as VP Product, Lifestyle at Yahoo! Inc. where I work with the engineering teams to design & launch new features for our products, as well as supporting the user community. I am immensely grateful for this opportunity and look forward to continue working with the wonderful people at Yahoo!

🎓 Education

Jess Lee is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Utah, where she is working on a project focusing on machine learning for natural language processing. Jess was born in Hong Kong in 1996. When she was younger, she wanted to be a journalist, but her parents didn't believe in sending their children to school. In 2000, Jess switched to Computer Science from Biochemistry at Stanford University.In 2004, Jess married and moved to the United States. She has two children. Jess currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah.
