From December 2011 to August 2012 (9 months) Cambridge, MassachusettsTeam Lead @ - Won the Summer 2011 Legatum Seed Grant for Showergy, and adjudged Best Team Award for IDEAS/Global Challenge Social Entrepreneurship competition. - Prototyped and constructed a modular, low-cost, efficient shower system to facilitate sanitation and improve the shower experience in the slums of Nairobi. - Conducted detailed community surveys for around 200 people, built community relations with two principal local youth groups in partnership with Sanergy, an MIT-startup. - Lead the Showergy team in 2012 for further iterations of the prototype. From December 2010 to January 2011 (2 months) Independent Researcher @ Conducted independent research on the viability of using carbon dioxide to maintain the optimum pH for the acid-dyeing of nylon-6. Initiated a novel concept for the Indian dyeing industry that obviates the use of highly-pollutant chemical dyeing buffers and lower energy requirements of the dyeing process.
