ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Turned around troubled project. Sodexo was awarded contract to complete construction of Mt. Sinai Hospital in NY following indictment of prior management team. Of 189 separate projects, 57 were over budget and all were behind schedule. Restructured entire effort, overcoming poor relationships with union, multiple change orders, and outstanding supply bills. Completed all projects, saving 10% on project losses, meeting new schedule deadlines.
Gained essential regulatory approval, completing halted job. A Georgetown University Hospital bulk oxygen farm project was started without permits. It was stopped by local government authorities, with no activity for two years. Sodexo was hired to complete build. Met with all plan review boards and changed design to address concerns. Completed building eight months after contract start date.
Supported contractor in saving faltering project. Stepped into help Mt. Sinai Hospital get $1.1M project get back on track at Sodexo. Contractor was unable to manage a large project. Trained GC on how to process paperwork, review financials, submit payment requests and implement safety procedures. GC completed project on time, with a profit and was able to take on more large jobs. From February 2008 to February 2013 (5 years 1 month) Construction Manager @ Managed construction projects for three sites, contracting with contractors and submitting project plans, permits and contracts for regulatory approval. Developed budgets/schedules for projects up to $140M, completing on-time and under-budget. From 2006 to 2008 (2 years) Project Executive @ Contracted to oversee new construction and renovation of a medical facility and two private schools, directing field and administrative staff. Led critical phases of buyout, provided financial reports, and submitted bids. Managed team of five and $50M budget.new public schools From 2006 to 2006 (less than a year) Sr. Project Manager @ Directed construction of commercial, hospital, retirement and mixed use projects, including 11 jobs valued at $127M at March Air Force Base.
