When First Act needed a key growth initiative, I realized our greatest strength was in the partnerships we could forge with the larger-than-life artists who use our products. With contacts from the retail industry to secure placement and alliances with the world’s largest licensors: The Walt Disney Company, Universal Pictures, Nickelodeon, Adam Levine, Sesame Workshop, and Sanrio
When First Act needed a key growth initiative, I realized our greatest strength was in the partnerships we could forge with the larger-than-life artists who use our products. With contacts from the retail industry to secure placement and alliances with the world’s largest licensors: The Walt Disney Company, Universal Pictures, Nickelodeon, Adam Levine, Sesame Workshop, and Sanrio (Hello Kitty), our licensing strategy has produced 40% of annual business since 2007.
You may remember television ads featuring Slash and John Mayer playing guitars plugged into Volkswagens. My concept for the co-promotion of the cars and the guitar that plugged into their audio systems established First Act as a force in our highly competitive industry (while leveraging Volkswagen’s multi-million-dollar national ad campaign.)
When competition at Target stores was keeping us out, I revisited our licensing strategy and created the plan for the first – and only – mass consumer line of artist-branded music products. With the 222 Signature Series by Adam Levine, we secured the music program from our world-renowned competitor and placed our products in Target stores for six consecutive years, producing significant growth. In fact, across multiple national retail accounts over six years, we generated $30 million.
I took a senior leadership position on the strategy for developing a consumer brand from concept to viable competitor in the video game space when First Act sister company Seven45 Studios produced PowerGig (GuitarHero with a real guitar), endorsed by Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews, and Kid Rock.
Currently, I lead Business Development and Marketing at First Act and BlueFlame Technologies, the mobile accessories division. My launch strategy broke through to major national retail accounts while competing with well established brands. We doubled sales from 2012 to 2013 on a marketing budget of $50,000, generating a positive return in less than two years.
Executive Vice President, Business Development & Marketing @ Entrepreneurial spirit made First Act category leader in music products sold at mass retail. I thrive on driving marketing and business development for consumer brands, leveraging my multi-industry network of strategic relationships. My solid understanding of marketing, consumer brands, strategic alliances, advertising, media, and technology fuels:
∙ LEADERSHIP of sales & marketing teams to develop and implement winning strategies for national retail accounts.
∙ BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, creating and leading sales & marketing for multiple consumer product business launches.
∙ BRAND BUILDING, contributing significantly to a rapid-growth consumer products company, driving annual revenue to $100+ million within five years of hire, collaborating to achieve worldwide growth to 250+ employees, and managing ecommerce for two global etailers.
