Jeff Hendler also has a background in electric power generation. He started at Salt Lake City-based Utah Generation in the early 1990s as an engineer, working on buildings and systems for the utility. He rose through the ranks, becoming the company’s president and CEO from 2003-2005. He then joined Sempra Energy, a megapower company, as its virologist and head of the power systems and Facilities Division. After 4 years at Sempra, he rejoined Utah Generation as its president and CEO, and led the company’s divestitures of power assets and the development of new renewable power plans.
