Efficiency lies in the art of execution. My objective is to build a global team focusing on communications, collaboration and engineering excellence to improve service delivery. Devise metrics to measure delivery against Service Level Agreements. Apply ITIL principles in developing roles and responsibilities and service catalog for how we interact with other teams. Establish standards and guidelines for DB2, Oracle and Sybase. Manage vendor relationships, licensing and cost justifying technology deployment. Develop roadmap for Database applications, Security and Compliancy. Design Data Protection strategies based on SLA to meet Recovery Time and Point Objectives (RTO/RPO). Design efficient storage architecture for databases based on criticality ranking using tiered storage principles. Reduce hardware cost by eliminating high availability pairing exploiting remote failover capabilities. Using Orchestration to automate failover and reduce RTO. Participate on project teams to review application vendor software. Mentor and realign DBA team to the product model. Focus on headcount deployment and skills retention for Subject Matter Experts. Work on department budget planning goals and initiatives.
