I created an affiliate marketing program, wrote a newsletter with over 100,000 subscribers, and oversaw all marketing components for the site both online and off (including the site's e-commerce efforts). My role was to leverage my experiences as a green business owner and a professional marketer to help others advertise their green, sustainable, eco-friendly, and/or energy efficient objectives and accomplishments. Principal at Sage Homebuilders, LLC from April 2006 to April 2009 (3 years 1 month) in Clayton, MO. Between 2006 and 2009, Sage Homebuilders was St. Louis's leading green-only builder. Our first project in Dogtown was the first HBA Green Certified project in the city (we went on to build Energy Star and LEED-certified properties as well). The principals of Sage shared a passion for green building and our work was known locally as "building dark green" (we were adamantly opposed to greenwashing). We loved what we did and it showed. Our homes won award after award, both for their green performance as well as for their aesthetic design. I'm afraid the real estate bust spelled the end of an all-too-short era for Sage, but the lessons learned from that period were invaluable to me.
