From July 2016 to March 2017 (9 months) Edmonton, Canada AreaProjects Director @ AMIAS Holdings I am managing the design and construction for AMIAS Holding’s in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Here is a list of our current projects with brief descriptions: The Kempinski Hotel & Residence Tower is a 69-story (260m) mixed-use tower located on the northern section of the Jeddah Corniche with excellent views of the Red Sea and close proximity to the Jeddah International Airport, the Mall of Arabia, and the Red Sea Mall. The tower consists of 242 hotel keys, including 18 serviced apartments, and 108 residences, including a Penthouse. There are three restaurants, three lounges, a large banquet hall, a state-of-the-art business center, health clubs for both men and women, a kids club, and an exclusive members club. Moreover, the property benefits from a ten-story parking structure (plus 3 underground floors) with a capacity of more than 570 cars. I have enjoyed the challenges in working with and coordinating the design and engineering documents with multi cultural consultants such as the Architect's Perkin Wills in New York, the Structural Engineer's Boll und Partner in Stuttgart, Germany, the MEP Engineer's ICEM in Uxbridge, England, and the Interior Designer's Peter Selling Associates in Hong Kong. AMIAS Real Estate is also developing a number of commercial and residential projects, including the Rocco Forte Hotel and Assila Towers on Jeddahs Al Tahlia Street and two hotels in the holy city of Makkah, the Omm Al Qura Makarim Hotel and the Al Bait Makarim Hotel. The company is also developing the Al Jazira Riyad housing compound in Jeddah. The Rocco Forte Hotel and Assila Towers is a mixed use development, 2 towers, 23 stories, 197 hotel keys, 17 story apartment tower with 82 serviced units, 2 restaurants, roof top swimming pool, with men and women health clubs. Also, the current political unrest in turbulent regions of the world strongly reinforces America’s need to reduce our dependence and produce more energy at home.We provide leading technology and project development for renewable energy in solar (thermal and photovoltaic), wind, geothermal, and hydroelectric systems.We provide complete design, engineering, and management services, plus we are a licensed and bonded contractor. We offer an experienced work force that has the capability to complete 100 percent of the construction. We offer service and maintenance programs. We can bring more efficiency to your existing system; regardless of how well a system is designed, improper installation can result in poor performance. From August 2009 to March 2011 (1 year 8 months) Executive @ Construction Design and built facilities that produce renewable energy including a process called “dry fermentation.” Essentially the process creates energy by placing bio mass (in the form of food waste, green waste, or wood waste) in a concrete bunker, fermenting the bio mass over a 28 day period, collecting the final result – energy in the form of biogas, electricity, heat, compost and fertilizer.When it comes to the future of renewable energy, “we find ourselves suffering not from a shortage in energy options, but from a lack of imagination”. We are paying too much for our current power supply, when you add in all the hidden costs associated with fossil fuel consumption—like the health effects of air pollution, expensive environmental remediation, and the amount of money (and energy) needed to collect, treat, and deliver all the water needed to keep our energy systems running—the amount we really pay for fossil fuels is almost incalculable. By incorporating the flexibility, reliability, and energy storage capabilities of distributed generation, we can go beyond our present oil guzzling, centralized energy system and move into a smart energy future. A 5,000 room luxury hotel (five 800’ high poured in place concrete towers), 400,000 square foot casino, 800,000 square foot meeting center, 400,000 square foot retail shopping mall, and 27 specialty restaurants. From January 2006 to May 2009 (3 years 5 months) Senior Project Executive, Construction @ Boyd Gaming - Echelon Resorts Through my knowledge of estimating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing processes, I saved over $13 Million on one change order alone! Additionally, I uncovered a $654,000 adding mistake by the contractor. I am a competent, energetic, garrulous, passionate and goal oriented commercial senior level construction manager overseeing in excess of $4.25 billion dollars in annual construction related activities. I understand the concepts, and process of strategic management with the ability to compare the actual progress with the planned progress, and provide guidance on what is required to get back on the correct trajectory. Developed, and implemented effective procedures for controlling the multi faceted phases of construction, including preconstruction planning, architectural, engineering, and interior design.
