Van Wielink spent his summers with his grandparents and his education was largely self-taught. Van Wielink finished bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Amsterdam in 2003. He then started a Master's degree in Organizational Behavior from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006. He was a Research Assistant at the Dutch University of Rotterdam from 2003-2006.
