Jake Huckaby has been working in the field of robotics for over 10 years. Huckaby started working at Georgia Institute of Technology as a Research Assistant in 2008. Since then, he has worked on a number of different projects, including developing learning by demonstration techniques in industrial manufacturing, taxonomy-based task modeling for industrial tasks, low degree-of-freedom manipulation for domestic service robots, door opening strategies for high- and low- DOF robots, and dynamic characterization of advanced manipulator for industrial tasks. In his spare time, Huckaby enjoys playing video games, reading, and spending time with his wife and two children.

Jake Huckaby's Education Background: Jake Huckaby's undergraduate education was received at Brigham Young University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2003.After attending Brigham Young University, Jake Huckaby received his PhD in Robotics from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2008. In 2014, Jake Huckaby was appointed a Professor of Robotics at Georgia Institute of Technology and is currently working on their 4th chair in the department of Robotics.In addition to his appointments at Georgia Institute of Technology, Jake Huckaby also has lead research projects at the University of Utah (2009-2013), Brown University (2012-2015), and the University of Tennessee (2018-present).In 2016, Jake Huckaby was one of the early pioneers in the development of a robot-led surgical platform for minimally-trauma surgery. This technology addresses many of the challenges head and neck surgeons face, and has already revolutionized the field of minimally-trauma surgery.The technology involved in this project was eventually chosen to become the standard in minimally-trauma surgery.
