The advancement of technology is a fact that people seem to be forgetting to accept or to realize. Therefore it should be technology to make the step towards humans to reduce the gap between them. Intelligent and learning machines that can anticipate and act on what people want and need are the future, if you ask me. I would like to participate in this development in every way I can. From programming intelligent systems to debating the philosophical issues. What I can offer to this cause is an abundant amount of enthusiasm, diverse programming skills and a scientific mind-set. In my time at the University of Utrecht so far I stood in the organisation of different events, Indievelopment being the biggest. In these organisations I mostly occupied the role of treasurer or PR. I enjoy seeing a product or an event like Indievelopment grow and develop into something that that people talk about (preferably in a positive way). “Every down-side has its up-side.” Is one of my favourite sayings and I try to live by it and help others see the up-side too. A positive and relaxed workspace works very motivating for me and I would like it for my colleagues to be that too.
