📖 Summary
Lead Research Engineer, Project Soli @ Google Technical lead for team of DSP, RF, and radar systems engineers developing core radar sensing techniques for human perception and interaction. Responsible for signal pipeline and algorithms development, including transmission design, spatiotemporal processing, detection, and tracking, as well as radar systems design and specification.Architected the sensing approach, design principles, and signal pipeline for Soli's custom pico-radar gesture sensor, enabling new modes of touchless interaction in wearables and devices. Graduate Research Fellow @ Stanford University Developed and validated new RF scattering models for persistent scatterer pixels in interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) satellite data. Designed statistical techniques to improve persistent scatterer identification from irregularly sampled spatiotemporal radar data. Demonstrated increased spatial density of crustal deformation time series measurements in highly decorrelated terrain. From September 2009 to August 2014 (5 years) Member of Technical Staff @ NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory Analyzed communication and tracking system design and requirements for Altair Lunar Lander. Designed ranging and positioning algorithms for networked lunar assets. Quantified effects of routing algorithms and communication constraints on distributed state estimation for fractionated spacecraft initiative. From September 2007 to May 2009 (1 year 9 months) Graduate Research Assistant @ Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Developed a distributed Bayesian algorithm for cooperative localization in wireless networks. Formulated problem as belief propagation in a factor graph and implemented message passing using particle filters. Conducted extensive measurement campaign to model ranging error for ultra-wideband radios in multipath environments. From September 2005 to June 2007 (1 year 10 months)
