About JP Tran
💼 Past Experience
JP Tran is currently a Teller Operation Specialist at Bank of America from November 2010 to February 2013 (2 years 4 months).Lead Product/UI/UX/Visual Designer at realtor.com from June 2016 to September 2017 (1 year 4 months) in Santa Clara, California.Lead Product UX/UI/Visual Designer at Zenbanx from July 2015 to June 2016 (1 year) in San Francisco Bay Area.As the lead product designer at Zenbanx, I get to wear many hats on the daily basic and I love every aspect of it.My responsibilities on the product team consist of meetings, project planning, product and competitor research, analyzing data, contributing new ideas (product features), product and usability testing, designing and completing tasks.I have two major product meetings per week with our CPO, VP of Product, VP of Planning, Head of Devs and other designers. We review mock-ups, talk about up-coming tasks, new features and solving any roadblock we might have. Before implementing and rolling out new features, the team and I perform a data analysis on those particular features. We ask ourselves: what has or hasn’t been done? What problems are those features from other products facing? And finally how are we going to solve them? As a lead designer and a team player, my job is to make sure that my junior designers feel as if they are a valuable and contributing member instead of a production designer. I encourage them to think outside the box and include them in every step from conceptualizing thoughts to wire framing to high fidelity mock-ups. To unsure new features function properly, we often run a focus group (both onsite and offsite). My responsibility during each session is to observe the users, their interactions with the product, their psychological behaviors once performing a certain task, listen to their frustration and their satisfaction. On top of all that, I also work with the CMO, VP of Marketing and Head of PR on the planning phrase of a new campaign. I, then, work with the Social Media Correspondent and Designers to complete the tasks. Since taking my advice on hiring designers, bringing most things in house and depending less on agency; Zenbanx has saved hundreds of thousands of dollars on out-sourcing cost.Multi Media Graphic Designer at Design In Mind, LLC from November 2014 to June 2015 (8 months) in San Francisco Bay Area.Working at a creative agency has allowed me to show my strengths of working extremely well under pressure with tight deadlines and strict client guidelines from esteemed clients such as Yahoo, LinkedIn and Microsoft as well as constantly develop and enhance necessary design and marketing skills to improve my effectiveness as a key contributor. My key responsibilities include:-managing marketing and branding materials-conceptualizing and executing print and web collateral, including, but not limited to, banners, brochures, annual reports, posters, booklets, email templates, campaign materials, flyers and social media marketing materials-collaborating with all company members to brainstorm innovative ideas, discuss process improvements and enhance branding strategies.
