💼 Past Experience

Iris Nevins's teaching experiences:Social Studies Teacher at Nur Ul Islam from January 2016 to June 2016 (6 months) in Cooper City Florida. Instructed the following 4 subjects: 6th Grade World Geography, 8th Grade U.S. History, 9th Grade Economics, 10th Grade AP U.S. History.Achievements:-My AP students were the first in school history to pass the AP U.S. History Exam, with one student receiving a 5. -Used videos, films, games, and group projects to motivate and excite students-Created an open and comfortable learning environment for students to be themselves-Managed an unusually heavy course-load that required 60+ hours a week of instruction and lesson planning. It is uncommon for a teacher to teach 4 different subjects at 4 different grade levels but I took the challenge head on and quickly became known as one of the best teachers on campus according to my students.

Iris Nevins has a B.S. in Africana Studies from Pomona College in 2010 and a M.A. in Web Development from Dev Bootcamp in 2017. Iris believes that her background gives her a unique perspective that is valuable in her work readiness. Outdoor Physical Education Instructor - I am currently a Teacher at a public school in a rural area in central PA. In this position I teach 3 different classes, third grade to 9th grade, about outdoor physical education. My experience includes outdoor physical education for girls, boys, and sixth through eighth graders.
