I have been working in the IT industry for 3 years. I started as a 1st line support analyst and have quickly progressed to 2nd/3rd line support. We are a small team so it has enabled me to learn many different things, working on fairly big projects that i maybe would not have the chance to in larger setups.
For example I have had a large part in designing an Exchange 2013 environment for our newly merged company and migrating users for 2 different domains to the new one. I have built Blackberry servers, Symantec backup solutions for our server infrastructure, desktop images and played a role in the migration of our physical servers to a virtual environment using VMware.
Along side this I am also trying to complete an Open University degree in Computing and Mathematics. I am constantly looking for a new challenge and ways to further increase my knowledge of the vast area of IT.
2nd Line It Technical Support @ Working as part of an IT support team my role involves working in a Service Desk environment dealing with over 100 internal users and many more external users. A bigger part of my role is the management and implementation of various projects. This has included the migration of our physical and virtual infrastructure to a new data center, renewing our mobile communications contract through a tender process and implementing a new backup and replication system for the business. From April 2014 to Present (1 year 9 months) Bristol, United KingdomIT Infrastructure and Support Analyst @ In my current role my main daily responsibilities are resolution of 2nd and 3rd line service requests ranging from bugs and issues resulting from our in house software, company booking website and other items of server infrastructure. I look after our Backup systems using Symantec, Acronis and Veeam. I have over the last few years completed projects that include the setting up of our backup solutions, creating a new Blackberry server, virtualising most of our physical server environment using VMware and HyperV. Recently our company has been merged with another travel company so we have just started to migrate both companies to a new domain while taking in office moves for 2 of the current offices. In this I have taken on a project to build and migrate both old companies onto a new Exchange 2013 domain and am currently involved with the planning and implementation of the main office move in Bristol of all of our current domain to a new CTI domain.
