Lead all activities, including but not limited to, strategy development and business planning, government relations at Ministerial level, operations, and drilling. Direct 9 VPs overseeing +500 staff across 6 sites including Tunis office, Hasdrubal and Hannibal gas processing plants, Gabes LPG export terminal and Miskar/Hasdrubal offshore platforms.Achievements:•Transformed Asset into best-in-class entity, revamping key areas including project planning and management, subsurface models, safety, and staff morale and development. •Led BG Tunisia to achieve PBIT, and record production, safety, and efficiency targets in 2010, including highest availability rates at 96.6%, while cutting 30% of underlying costs.•Orchestrated delivery of >$1.B Hasdrubal gas project; successfully drilled 6 top quartile development wells in past 2 years.•Mitigated negative impacts of recent political and social unrest, evacuating all expatriate staff, ensuring all national staff were safe and accounted for, and continuing production without interruption; involved managing serious crises including 40 staff held in their cars for 8 hours en route to work.•Honoured with multiple awards from Chairman and CEO for extraordinary Safety and Innovation. From June 2008 to September 2011 (3 years 4 months) General Manager North and West Africa @ BG Group Formulated and led execution of strategic plans to penetrate and expand in countries throughout North and West Africa. Directed all aspects of activities in Algeria, Libya, and Madagascar including, but not limited to, strategic planning, work programme delivery such as seismic and drilling operations, business development, risk management, and government relations. Managed and made critical decisions on non-operated interests in Mauritania. Developed, presented, and obtained Board approval on new country entries. Administered $80M capital budget. Oversaw 5 E&P licenses and 11 wells.Achievements:•Pioneered business in new countries in North Africa for BG, successfully building Asset from 6 UK-based staff with no businesses into 75-member entity with offices in Libya and Algeria.•Doubled value of region, leading $50M acquisition in Algeria, and winning 3 exploration licenses in Libya.•Initiated and led strategic decision to exit Mauritania, and successfully disposed of all related assets. From May 2005 to May 2008 (3 years 1 month) Vice President, BG Trinidad and Tobago @ BG Group Directed and led all aspects of BG operations and development activities in North Coast Marine Area (NCMA), Central Block, and Atlantic Liquefied Natural Gas (ALNG). Oversaw all P&L for BG Trinidad’s upstream assets in NCMA and Central Block, and BG’s share in midstream ALNG assets; produced total of $500M PBIT annually. Served as key member of ALNG Board.Achievements:•Doubled PBIT for BG Trinidad from 2002 to 2005, and achieved stretch targets all 3 consecutive years.•Managed successful management and development of NCMA field producing 365M standard cubic feet per day (scf/d); included $100M Phase 2 development.•Provided strategic support for acquisition of Central Block, and led post-acquisition integration; overall development cost was $65M, and was scheduled to produce 80M scf/d. •Instrumental in successful operation of ALNG Train 1, seamless start-up of Train 2/3, and $2B Train 4 development; included integration of Train 2/3 with NCMA upstream supply 6 months ahead of schedule. •Secured all early LNG cargoes for sale to BG USA; won Commercial Award for BG Group. From May 2002 to May 2005 (3 years 1 month) Group Head of Strategy and Economics @ BG Group Developed and led all aspects of business unit focused on analysis of all BG Group investments in support of Board decisions, and management of company’s annual business plan; provides economics and strategic support for all worldwide Assets across Group. Managed team of 10 economists. Provided oversight of all BG economists worldwide. Conducted and reported on monthly investment appraisals. Handled all project economics in support of Group Business Plan.Achievements:•Ranked as Top Service Provider for 2 consecutive years, providing highest level of service of any service providers as determined quarterly by each company Asset.•Enabled accurate modelling and strategic leveraging of integrated gas chains, managing development of new economic modelling software, and developing capability for Decision-Tree analysis. From January 2000 to May 2002 (2 years 5 months) Commercial Manager, BG Indonesia @ BG Group Position was based in Jakarta and reported to the General Manager, BG Indonesia.Responsible for BG’s commercial activities in Indonesia including the negotiation of key Project and Partner Agreements for the Tangguh LNG Project. From February 1997 to January 2000 (3 years) Commercial Manager, BG Singapore @ BG Group Position was based in Singapore and reported to the Regional MD.Responsible for BG’s business development activity in SE Asia including provision of commercial support for a 1500 MW IPP in the Philippines. From June 1994 to February 1997 (2 years 9 months) Senior Vice President, Mozambique LNG @ Total Accountable for the multi-billion $ MzLNG Project including Business Development, Project delivery, Project Financing and Marketing.Led a multi-disciplined team taking the circa $20 billion project through pre-development to a Final Investment Decision. :- Led early site development works including Resettlement project totalling >$500 million.- Accountable for LNG Marketing team based in Houston and Singapore and capture of over 11 MTPA of long term LNG Sale and Purchase Agreements- Accountable for teams who successfully negotiated LSTK EPC contracts for the onshore and offshore elements of the Project and also agreements to raise circa $13 billion of Project Finance debt.- Regular interface with Government of Mozambique at Presidential and Ministerial level to deliver necessary Government agreements and support for Project Sanction Houston, Texas AreaUpstream Asset Director, QGC @ QGC (BG Group) Reporting to the MD and leading a team of 1000+, Ian is accountable for the all upstream activity in the Surat Basin for the world’s first QCLNG Project, including Project Delivery, Drilling, Operations, Developments and Land and Environment. Accountable for :• Upstream Project delivery of the >$10Billion QCLNG Project including delivery of 2 RO water treatment plants, 22 compressor/processing stations, 5000KM of gathering pipe, and 2000 wells. • Operations, overseeing a production ramp up from 200 MMscf/d to 1600 MMscf/d from 2000 wells over a geography of 4500 square kilometres. • All Development and Sub-Surface activity including pre-sanction work for future project Phases estimated at $ 8Billion. Achievements:• Delivery of best in class safety record for industry.• Transformed the upstream delivery culture of QGC overseeing a doubling of rates for drilling, gathering and well sites delivery and a halving of costs.• Delivery of all compression facilities ahead of schedule and budget.• Accountable for ramp up of gas production to 1600 MMscf/d and delivering early best in class efficiency factors for production facilities.• Re-design of future Phases of project eliminating inefficiencies and delivering savings in range of $2 Billion.
