💼 Past Experience
I am a Senior Legal Counsel at Apple from July 2013 to March 2016. I worked at White & Case LLP from February 2005 to July 2013 and at Visa from March 2016 to May 2018. I originally worked in the Trial Division, which is where I helped prosecute cases in the United States et al. v. Oracle case, which I was on the courthouse team that won. I also worked on the antitrust team during the administration of Attorney General Spitzer. I am also a Law Clerk at United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa from August 2001 to August 2002. I was in the Corporate Litigation practice at White & Case from 1998 to 1999. Then I worked in the Technology Transactions practice at White & Case and I was involved in a number of mergers and acquisitions. In terms of legal experience, I am also a partner in White & Case's Mergers & Acquisitions group. I have a lot of experience in the area of intellectual property, and I have been involved in a lot of cases where I have helped prosecute the defendants. I am also very familiar with the area of antitrust law and I helped enforce the settlement in New York v. Microsoft. I am also very familiar with the area of consumer protection and I helped represent a teenager who was facing expulsion from school and an HIV/AIDS sufferer who was seeking consumer redress.

Howard Wettan has a degree from San Francisco State University in economics, and a juris doctorate from Brown University in applied math-economics. Wettan practiced banking and financial advising before becoming a law professor at Columbia Law School in 2003. The legal practice has given Wettan the opportunity to engage in extensive litigation, both in private and public courts. As a practicing attorney, Wettan has delivered speeches, taught law courses and given seminars on legal analysis and financial planning.
