Moura's professional career began in 2003 when she was hired as a designer at Illinois Institute of Technology, working on a range of award-winning projects. While at Illinois, Moura earned a Ph.D. in design, which she followed up with a Post-Doc in Computer Science at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro. Finally, she completed her M.S. in Education from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, working on different forms of pedagogy within the field of design.
