Teams reporting into me included software development, database design, database operations and quality assurance. Also responsible for oversight of offshore-based software development, business process and QA teams. During my tenure, the database development team consistently met its aggressive new product release targets. Revenue for the product line grew by 400%. My team was also responsible for the ongoing maintenance and updating of more than 150 database products used worldwide. In 2004, EBSCO's site was ranked in the 20 most-used web sites in Neilsen's Netratings. I also worked closely with Sales, Product Management and Business Development teams to establish long- and short-term strategic plans for current and new database products. Core member of cross-departmental project team responsible for development of XML-based data repository to replace EP's legacy content management system. From September 2000 to January 2005 (4 years 5 months) Senior Director, Data Systems & Services @ Copyright Clearance Center Primary business owner of CCC’s world-class rights management database. I lead a 25+ person locally-based team and companion offshore team responsible for all aspects of data creation, ingestion and maintenance. Responsible for tracking relevant national and international publishing industry standards. I negotiate all data-supply and data-partnership agreements and serve as the CCC ambassador to all data partner organizations. Internally, I am a valued partner to CCC's Product Development team, advising on data strategy and standards for CCC's products and services. I serve on many national and international data standards development committees and am currently Chair of NISO's Board of Directors. I regularly represent CCC at industry events and conferences and am a sought-after speaker, presenter and panel participant. From January 2005 to December 2014 (10 years) Danvers, MassachusettsDean, Library and Learning Resources @ Berklee College of Music Chief administrator for Berklee's Library and Learning Resources departments. Member of Berklee's Academic Affairs senior leadership team and the Presidents Council (which is the college's senior leadership team). Berklee's Stan Getz Library encompasses the library, the media center, and the Berklee Archives. My responsibilities also extend to guiding the collaboration responsible for the library at Berklee's campus in Valencia, Spain. The Learning Resources group provides technology training to support the educational technology needs of all Berklee students. The Learning Center also runs a core music tutoring program. As Dean, I am responsible for developing a strategic vision and plan for both these units that will align with Berklee's overall vision and strategy, and support the teaching needs of the full range of Berklee's departments and programs. Greater Boston AreaDirector of Information Technology @ Harvard University In this position I had School-wide responsibility for all IT planning, implementation and management. Built Harvard Divinity School’s first professionally staffed IT organization from the ground up. Oversaw upgrade of entire IT infrastructure, including physical network, servers, and desktop hardware. Worked with faculty and senior administrative staff to develop long-term strategic IT plan. Instituted School’s first instructional technology program. Worked closely with faculty on program launch and developed appropriate support model to ensure ongoing adoption. Served on library renovation planning team, with primary responsible for IT infrastructure planning for new and renovated spaces. Full budget responsibility. From January 1997 to September 2000 (3 years 9 months) Manager of Networked & Desktop Systems, Office for Information Systems @ Harvard University Oversaw planning, implementation and support of campus-wide access to library systems and services. Worked with computing center staff on major system implementations and application upgrade projects. Managed the suite of systems that provided authenticated access to campus-wide online subscriptions. Advised senior library management on information system planning and projects. From January 1993 to August 1996 (3 years 8 months) Manager, Technical Support Group, Office for Information Systems @ Harvard University Led team of programmer/analysts responsible for ongoing maintenance and support of Harvard's integrated library system. Modules included purchasing/invoicing, cataloging, circulation and online public catalog access. Responsible for defining, planning and implementing system upgrades and enhancements. Worked with Harvard Data Center staff on major data-center and network upgrade projects. Advised senior library management on information system planning and projects. From 1988 to 1993 (5 years)
