💼 Past Experience
I have been working on using machine learning algorithms to improve the search experience for Facebook. I designed the core algorithms that are powering Bing's and Microsoft's entity experience. Additionally, I was also a Research Intern at Microsoft Research Redmond from May 2009 to August 2009. I worked on three important human computation games: Page Hunt, Page Race and Page Match. My work provides an efficient and effective method to collect useful data for the research of Web search improvement, cognitive style analysis, eye-tracking analysis and search engine evaluation. Hao's educational background and work readiness are primarily based on her work experience and Academy degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics. In her time as a professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, she has lectured on computer science topics, as well as developed and taught block-level coursework in these subjects. Additionally, she developed computationally-friendly tools for teaching and research purposes. In her previous professional roles, Hao has used her skills as a professor in various universities to help prepare students for future roles in the field. In her words, " computer science is not a one-way street. It has the potential to enable people to do many different things. I hope to become a mentor for the students in the future, and help them grow and learn more about the field."Despite her extensive experience and training in Computer Science, Hao remains illiterate. In her time as a professor, she has organized and taught advanced coursework on Topics in Algebra, Calculus and Normals, and Applied Mathematics. Additionally, she has also provided a wide-ranging tutorial on various computer science topics. Some of her more popular courses, such as Normals and Algebra and Calculus, have been viewed as key landmarks in the field. Given her prior experience and teaching skills, Hao is currently the most experienced and qualified professor of her era in the city of Hong Kong.Hao has a passion for teaching. She has a deep understanding of the issues her students are facing, and she takes the time to understand their struggles and desires. She takes pride in her role as a teacher, and teaches in a way that seems to help her students achieve their goals. She also appears to be patient and dedicated to her students, frequently taking the time to explain and illustrate complex concepts in a way that is easy for students to understand. Overall, Hao appears to be a successful teacher and a good fit for her current position as a professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
