In the past two years, I have seen significant strides in the field of machine learning, specifically with deep learning. Deep learning algorithms are designed to generalize and learn from data, much like a human. In order to create a deep learning system that is successful, you need to have a lot of data. In order to train a deep learning system, you must secondarilytrain the system on a subset of your data that is representative of the data you will be using for your ALI.Despite this, there is still a lot of companies and researchers that are not understanding deep learning and are therefore not able to create successful deep learning systems. To solve this problem, Facebook hired Hagay Lupesko in order to lead their deep learning initiatives.Deep learning iscritically important for Facebook because it makes the product roadmap morevable, drives operational excellence, and helps drive technical standards. For example,Deep Learning allows Facebook to deploy systems quickly and across a range of hardware devices, which is necessary for meeting the demands of Production quickly. Additionally, deep learning allows Facebook to automate many tasks in production, notably defect detection.Although it may be difficult to start up a deep learning system, once you have one, you can be successful in this field. In my time at Amazon, I was able to successful deploy and grow an AI and ML team. I also got to use different front-end and back-end web technologies, and constantly raised the bar on product quality, usability, performance, and technical standards.Although I may have left Nova after only 7 months due to an attractive offer to relocate and join Amazon Music in San Francisco, CA, I still think it was a great experience. I was able to learn about various industrychanging technologies and myself. Furthermore, I was able to gain new perspective and learn from multiple team leaders. Overall, I am very happy with my experience at Facebook and would recommend it to anyone looking for a challenging and technical role in the field of artificial intelligence.

Hagay Lupesko's education has been in computer science and computer science education, where she has studied at Tel Aviv University andBen-Gurion University of the Negev. As a graduate student, she worked on developing a mobile spreadsheet app named "MoneyMath" and taught a few computer science student labs.
