💼 Past Experience

Guy Vidra has over 20 years of experience in the publishing and technology industries. He has worked in a number of different capacities at major publishing conglomerates, most notably at The New Republic where he held a variety of positions including Editor, Business Development, and GM Mobile. Vidra also worked at Yahoo! News as Head of Strategy and Development before joining Proteus, Inc. where he spent 2 years as VP, Business Development. He left Proteus in late 2008 to return to The New Republic as Editor in Chief. There he led the company’s strategy and executed On the Media projects such as adding the influentialnational outlet to the Yahoo! Guy Vidra is a professor of political science and international relations, at Ramaz University in suburban Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He has also been a visiting professor at numerous universities, including the University of Michigan, the Fletcher School of Global Affairs at Tufts University, and the Indonesian University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Prior to his appointment at Ramaz University, he was Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Michigan from 1992 to 1996. From 1998 to2000, he was the Coordinator for the International Relations Department at the Fletcher School of Global Affairs at Tufts University. He has also been a visiting professor at the Indonesian University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Tennessee. Dr. Vidra is a Member of the Academia Saudi Arabica and a Fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. He has been awarded numerous honors, including the King Abdulaziz Award for Excellence in teaching and research in Political Science, the Abdel Aziz Gold Award for Achievement in Scholarship in Political Science, and the recipients of invited lectureships at numerous universities. He is also a Distinguished Professor at the American University in Riyadh.
