- Worked on the new mobile, tablet, and desktop responsive front-ends for AOL Account Management (Forgot Password, Forgot Account Security Question, Update Your Account) sites. Popular projects being used include Twitter Bootstrap, HTML5/Mobile Boilerplate, and jQuery.
- Supported the web registration for AOL-owned properties including AIM, AOL Mail, The Huffington Post, MovieFone, Winamp, AOL.com, games.com, dailyfinance.com, the AOL Desktop Client, and more.
- Created the AOL mobile web registration experience for Android and iOS devices using HTML5, CSS3 Media Queries, a fluid CSS design, viewport meta tags, JavaScript enhancements, JSP’s, and Java user-agent detection. Testing was completed using a combination of Safari and Firefox User-Agent Tools and native Android and iPhone devices. (On your mobile phone go to new.aol.com)
- Upgraded the AOL web registration experience to improve accessibility for disabled users. Code improvements included fixing browser focus events, audio playback in Safari, and forward and backward keyboard navigation. New code was introduced to dynamically insert WAI-ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Application Suite) tags to make sure static and dynamic web content was available to users with disabilities. Testing was completed using the proprietary screen reader, JAWS.
- Worked with the AOL Toolbar team to create a silent toolbar installation process for AOL web registration.
- Managed the AOL web registration database (Sybase) to support new registration requests.
- Presented technical sessions to the Identity Services team to promote client-side best practices for new and existing AOL projects. The presentation topics included jQuery performance, jQuery plugin development, JavaScript design patterns, and Javascript Unit Testing with the Jasmine Framework.
