Our company was founded in 2014 and we work in the fields of mobile systems and processor design, productivity, engineering, and development. Qualcomm Inc. is a technology giant that dominates the smartphone market. Holding a doctorate in physics from Princeton, Greg Fitzgerald’s experience in the engineering world goes back to his days as a staff software engineer at Alescere, LLC, a company founded by three of his friends. While there, he worked on a low-cost phone system for small businesses, and he also took part in the development of a advances in a language called Lua, which is used by several open source projects. After a stint as a software engineer at Qualcomm India in Bangalore, India, where he supervised the design and implementation of a high performance blockchain, Greg Fitzgerald returned toSan Diego in 2015 as a staff software engineer at Qualcomm Boulder. His responsibilities here included work on a new blockchain platform that was meant to support over 50,000 transactions per second, as well as overseeing the development of a number of software products. In this role, he was also responsible for upstreaming his work on Flake, alua-to-C bridge, and CodeBOM, two of the most established open source projects in his field. Greg Fitzgerald is currently the Senior Staff Software Engineer at Qualcomm Boulder, where he is responsible for design and implementation of domain-specific languages for Qualcomm’s web and messaging infrastructure team, as well as developing code for the Qualcomm Snapdragon LLVM compiler toolchain. He has also worked on upstreaming his work on Lua, Flake, Python, and C++ projects. Gregory Fitzgerald is also a member of the boards of directors for both the Open Source Science Foundation and the Trust For Public Land, and he is also a supporter of the Perl Foundation.
