Licensed Engineering Geologist and Data Scientist, with more than 20 years of experience in scientific & business data management & analysis, GIS, and engineering geology. Proficient in both office and field environments with a proven ability to adapt to multiple methodologies, industries, technologies and audiences. Uses technical data & analysis abilities to solve practical business and problems using scientific rigor. Consider data, temporal and statistical analysis to determine root cause or projected impacts.
TECHNICAL MANAGER / ANALYST: Expertise in data management and analysis across a variety of disciplines. Strong focus on environmental consulting, including enterprise-level databases, spatial data modeling and analysis, web-based data portals, GIS, tabulated and other analysis and presentation formats. Skilled in creating databases, analysis, analytical tools and data display and task automation for a broad range of end users. Excellent inter-discipline awareness and communication skills, especially determining specific client's needs and long term goals & 'best practice' approaches.
ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST: Underground and surface mining and engineering. Logged and analyzed deep (> 300m) orientated HQ triple-tube core rock drill holes. Supervised road cut, dam foundation and reservoir work, ‘tank yanks’ and other Phase I assessments (field and office). Various mass movement and remediation work, trenched and mapped quarry and other sites.
Scientific Data, GIS & Business Analyst | Environmental Scientist | Geologist | Technical Manager @ Now it is time to find a new, engaging position that challenges me, 'makes my brain hurt' in that stimulating way that solid technical challenges do - but with full realisation of the businesses processes that bring a client to the door (as cliché as that sounds!)
I have a passion for learning, data-driven solutions and geological, environmental & other science and geospatial problem-solving. My unwavering curiosity and intuitive orientation to detail fuel my aptitude for discovering insights, while my smart work ethic, sound business acumen and focus on quality drive organizational success and solve business problems. I am very flexible professionally, and - as cliché as it might sound - I very much like to be engaged in my work. I excel at understanding the context of each project and delivering practical, actionable solutions that make a difference. I offer the fresh and ready attitude of a scientist and the advanced technical, analytical and creative problem-solving skills of an experienced professional with a significant record of achievement.
Project highlights include: 1) Groundwater Study for Airport Project: Developed a database and modeling tool based upon historical geotechnical and hydrological data and spatial data to rapidly identify relevant ground water risks. Resulted in standardized map projection descriptions used by the FAA to integrate other map projection data sets for internal and contractor sources. Included 3D representation of stratigraphy, groundwater elevations and hydraulic parameters; 2) Indian Reservation Groundwater Resource and Tunnel Impact Study: Field transducer installation to 5 million+ data record GIS project. Developed time series graphs of groundwater pressures and spring and stream flow and developed codes and routines to extract and pre-process daily, telemetered data into the project database. Expanded the project GIS, ensured data integrity and calculated spring water production levels in support of tribal business.
