💼 Past Experience

Goutam Das:I come from a family of journalists. My father, an employee of a town paper, was a tabloid journalist while my mother, a features writer, worked in a general weekly. I always wanted to be a journalist. I first learned to write in school and my senior class project was to write a long article on different topics. After talking to my family and friends about my interest, I transferred to Jawaharlal Nehru University to study journalism.I did my Journalism degree from JNU and then, I worked as an editing intern at a small daily in Kerala. I was very impressed by the way the Daily Mail worked and I decided to go into journalism full time. I worked at The New Indian Express from January 2004 to November 2004. There, I did a lot of copy editing and from November 2004 to August 2006, I was the National Editor. I was also the senior reporter for the online branch of the paper.In August 2006, I transferred to The Financial Express as a Sub Editor and then, in April 2009, I was promoted to the Senior Editor position. I was responsible for all the content of the paper. I also worked on the copy editing and development of the paper. I was also the coordinator of the content purchase unit.In October 2011, I moved up to the Assistant Editor position. I was responsible for all the content of the paper and alsoresponsible for the content strategy.In March 2020, I moved up to the Senior Editor position at The Financial Express. I was responsible for all the content of the paper and alsoresponsible for the content development. I also worked on the copy editing and development of the paper.In October 2021, I moved up to the Assistant Editor position at The Financial Express. I was responsible for all the content of the paper and alsoresponsible for the content strategy. In April 2015, I was promoted to the Senior Associate Editor at Business Today. I was responsible for all the content of the paper and alsoresponsible for the content development. I also worked on the copy editing and development of the paper.In August 2019, I was promoted to the Deputy Editor at Business Today. I was responsible for all the content of the paper and alsoresponsible for the content strategy. I am also the Technology Editor at Deccan Chronicle. I am currently a trainee reporter at The Pioneer.

Goutam Das is a journalist who has focussed her work primarily on online content and young adult fiction writing.
