For more than 14 years, I have spearheaded a wide array of successful projects in all aspects of mechanical engineering, renewable energy, power plants and supply chain management with a wealth of academic study and exceptional senior leadership for multinational, high profile corporations. Led decentralization into 4 divisions while overseeing execution of devolution of powers ultimately generating 20% EBITDA growth. Managed newly created division, responsible for the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Russia /CIS, and boosted 10 M€ per year business growth in 6 months, establishing divisional HQ in Dubai. Adapted pre-existing Spanish BU’s size to existing market conditions and new positioning, returning profitability. Created and directed JVs, leading and managing tendering project team. Developed market penetration strategies and sustainable business models to enhance business outcomes. Boosted company growth into 4 new markets, including Poland, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Russia.
Led negotiations and contract closure for key clients and business stakeholders. Managed order intakes for 500M€ working with cross-functional teams of 50 employees. Established and directed international JV bidding for a major $500M infrastructure project in Turkey.
Spearheaded market analysis, re-engineering business model, including products, channels, costing structure, supply chain management. Created company strategy and implemented successful deployment and business operations. From October 2011 to December 2012 (1 year 3 months) Project Director @ Managed portfolio of 3 simultaneous projects with a total value of around 50 M€, reporting to VP executive level. Directed all project parameters, including risk management, quality assurance, EHS, budget and schedule. Negotiated and processed contracts with key business partners, suppliers and clients. Supervised resource planning, financial planning and optimization of costing structures.
Completed various international engineering projects successfully, including Water-Steam Cycles for SASK Power (CA), Energy World (IDN), Electricity Authority of Cyprus (CY), Astute-class nuclear submarines, etc. Achieved Lean just-in-time product development and manufacture while leading profound culture change within engineering team. From August 2009 to September 2011 (2 years 2 months) Project Engineering Manager @ Coordinated customer management, strategic analysis of tenders and creation of offers. Directed all responsibilities as Project Engineering Manager for a CCPP in Germany, KW Emsland. Ensured business operations for 130 employees across 3 locations and annual revenue of 120 M€. Recognized for renegotiating main EPC contract for KW Emsland, saving 15 M€ of cost. From March 2009 to October 2009 (8 months) Zürich Area, SwitzerlandTechnical Plant Manager @ Following a M&A, led the technical teams of two on-site production plants. Elaborated, jointly with the Regional Manager and the Commercial Department in Switzerland, the development strategy of the plants.
Increased plant efficiency, reliability and availability rate. Optimized the operation costs (maintenance, energy, consumables), as well as the investments for plant improvements or expansions.
Identified best technologies and processes, both from Omya and the newly acquired entity, proposed a synthesis of both and led a change management initiative to deploy it. From February 2007 to March 2009 (2 years 2 months) Project Director @ Managed CAPEX and optimization projects up to 20 M€, reporting to VP and Country COO-Level. Achieved successful negotiations and contract conclusions with suppliers, spearheading procurement and strategic procurement among key clients; led contract management. Executed risk management, quality, QEHS, budget and schedule for various international projects.
Led engineering, procurement and construction of calcium carbonate on-site plant supplying biggest paper machine in the world in Setubal. Oversaw international project teams with up to 3 Project Managers and 15 core team members in 4 geographical locations. Integrated plant in Setubal for client’s production cycle on time and reduced payback period by over 12 months.
