💼 Past Experience

In 2014, Gonca Esendemir co-founded and led the development of Thumb Bread, autenberg brand for casual and upscale restaurants catering to a casual, urban and developing audience. She also led social media outreach for the company and assisted with marketing, product development and growth for the brand. In previous roles, Gonca has worked in restaurant marketing and marketing strategy for two different restaurant companies. Gonca holds a B.S. from George Washington University in International Studies and a B.S. from the University of California, Davis in marketing.

🎓 Education

Gonca Esendemir was born in Montclair, New Jersey in 1984. She attended Montclair State University where she minored in liberal arts. After graduation, Gonca worked as a grants writer for a nonprofit organization in New York City.In early 2019, Gonca left her position with the nonprofit organization to become an assistant research scientist at Imperial College London. She is one of only a few Americans to hold this role at Imperial College London.Gonca is currently studying to obtain her Ph.D. in neuroscience from Imperial College London. She is also completing research in the field of volumetric MRI (“voxel-based MRI”) and a related technique, diffusion MRI.Gonca is extremely excited about her upcoming work as an assistant research scientist at Imperial College London. She feels that her research will be of great significance in the field of neuroscience. Gonca is highly prepared to fulfill her requirements for the Ph.D. program at Imperial College London and is excited to begin her journey there in the near future.
